Yamanaka’s forthcoming joint exhibition separates three parts of lacquerware production: wooden bodies, lacquer finishing and maki-e decoration. The Yamanaka Lacquerware Cooperative announced the 2026 programme on October 20.
Two days with different opening times
The official posters schedule December 6 from 12:00 to 17:00 and December 7 from 10:00 to 17:00 at the Yamanaka Lacquerware Industrial Technology Center (山中漆器産業技術センター), beside Urushiza in Kaga, Ishikawa. The notice says admission is free; the posters also advertise sales.
The wood-body section presents uncoated wooden work, while the other sections address lacquer finishing and maki-e. The cooperative’s account of regional production describes a division of work among specialist craftspeople. That process distinction does not establish the substrate, coating or heat compatibility of any individual piece offered at the show.
