A plywood substrate, a wiped-urushi finish and a printed layer are separate parts of Urusilk’s construction. SAVA!STORE’s October 6 account describes the 200 × 130 mm plate developed by 錦古里漆器店 and the design studio TSUGI in Kawada, Sabae, Fukui.
What is beneath the print
The base is laminated plywood supplied by 井上徳木工. It receives fuki-urushi, a wiped-urushi finish. The graphic is then screen-printed using paint mixed with urushi; this description does not establish the composition of every component as pure lacquer.
TSUGI says fine-line printing required adjustments to viscosity and squeegee pressure. Those are the collaborators’ process observations, rather than our inspection of production.
The account places SAVA!STORE within the lacquer workshop’s premises in Kawada. The shared location is useful context for the collaboration without reproducing the source’s personal narrative or the plate designs.
The announcement scheduled in-store sales from October 9. It described online sales as a later plan once preparations were complete. Current stock, price and online order acceptance have not been verified.
