Fujie Textile’s next PROFILE collection distinguishes its full range from its Japanese-made subset. The October 9 announcement schedules vol.6 for October 28, with 36 patterns and 94 items overall. Of those, 33 patterns and 90 items are made in seven Japanese production regions.

Production counts and one Kyoto technique

The named regions are Isesaki, Fujiyoshida, Gamagori, Bishu, Hokuriku, Kyoto and Kyotango. The announcement does not identify all 94 items as domestically made.

For the Kyoto textile Ibasho, Fujie describes a cotton-and-linen cloth hand-printed with black pigment, followed by application of sulphur-treated silver leaf, called yakihaku, by a Kyo-yuzen craftsperson. This is a description of a specific textile’s surface work, not urushi lacquer or a claim that every fabric in the collection uses that process.

Fujie’s current notice lists a reservation-only Tokyo showroom exhibition for October 28–30. Launch scheduling does not establish current order acceptance, inventory or delivery times; these remain unconfirmed here.
