A change in surface water beading does not, by itself, identify the next treatment. Finetrack’s current care FAQ starts with contamination and washing residues before discussing further water-repellent care. That sequence gives an owner a more useful question than simply which spray to buy.

Technique and structure

Finetrack identifies dirt, detergent components and additives such as fabric softener remaining on the fabric as possible contributors to reduced water repellency. It says removing dirt and rinsing detergent away can restore repellency in some cases. Cleaning and re-treatment therefore address different possibilities: a surface affected by residue does not automatically establish that another application is the first step. The maker’s conditional wording matters; washing is not presented here as a guaranteed recovery or a test of a garment’s waterproof performance.

Keep the care instructions with the garment

The FAQ advises detergent without fabric softener when using a commercial detergent, and goes on to describe additional care if washing is insufficient. This guide does not turn its ironing advice into a temperature rule for every garment. Check the actual product’s care label and the maker’s complete instructions before selecting a process.

For international readers

Use a change in beading as a reason to check contamination, cleaning and product identity. Overseas availability of the named care products or services has not been verified; this is not a claim that every fabric can be washed or heated in the same way.
